I've been prepping my flowerbed and used these shears to cut down the branches of a bush. Chunky branches. I was rather surprised with how well and with which ease they were able to cut them done. I'm impressed.
These are well-made, solid shears. The blades are very thick (6 mm, or nearly 1/4"). This means there is very little flex in use, which is vital when cutting through thick fabric or multiple layers. This also means that the in use the force of the blades' curves meeting is be focused on the cutting edge, rather than bending the blades.
The rubber coating is very thin; just thick enough to provide cushioning and non-slip properties. We will have to see how such a thin layer holds up over time and use. But it has no impact on the space in the bows, which is good for those of us with sausage fingers.
These are a heavy tool, with the 8" shears weighing in at 200 grams (almost half a pound). While this reflects the blade quality (thickness), it could be tiring to use them for extended periods. My daughter specifically mentioned that she is glad we chose the smallest pair for that reason.
Overall a serious and well-made tool, precise enough for fine linen, and big enough for layers of 700 gsm wool. Well done!

They come well-packaged and you cans see and feel the quality of materials and construction. The points can reach into tight spaces to select threads and the ease of the "snip" action ensures that your hand won't experience fatigue. Don't ask me how I know...
My first pair of real fabric scissors. Such a game-changer. Happy I was able to find a Canadian company as well :)
